Air India has started a non-stop flight from Delhi to Milan which is scheduled to operate four-times-a-week.

The commencement of this flight along with Air India’s previously launched operations from Delhi to Vienna and to Copenhagen will strengthen the airline’s footprint in Europe.

“With the launch of this flight to Milan, we will be spreading our wings to cover major destinations in Europe and fulfil a key element of our five-year transformation plan, Vihaan.AI, that is to strengthen India’s global network,” said Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial Officer, Air India, commenting on the expansion.

After months of closely-guarded, tough negotiations, Air India is set to place an order for 190 Boeing 737 MAX narrowbody planes as well as some 20 Boeing 787s and 10 Boeing 777X on a day marking one year since Tata Group took control of the former state-run carrier, the sources told Reuters.

Calling the introduction of these flights is another step in that journey, Aggarwal shared that the airline is forward to welcoming guests and sharing Air India’s warm Indian hospitality with them.

Flight AI137 from Delhi to Milan is operating on Wednesdays, Fridays, Sundays and Mondays. It departs Delhi at 1420 hrs and lands at Milan at 1830 hrs (LT).

The flight, operated by the next-generation B787-8 Dreamliner aircraft, features 18 Business Class and 238 Economy Class seats.
