John Legend’s latest creative venture, Loved01, a skincare line for the body and face, is now officially available at your local CVS and on cvs.com. Legend sought to create this brand as a means “to celebrate melanin-rich skin and provide the love, care, and attention it deserves,” he explained in a press release. “We hope to help democratize the beauty space by offering high-quality products at an accessible price point. Everyone deserves to be seen, represented and provided with the tools to love themselves, starting with healthy skin.”

The Loved01 skincare routine begins with cleansing, and Legend’s solution for an adequately cleansed face and body is the $10 Loved 01 Face + Body Wash. The cleanser claims to have a “luxuriously creamy” texture “that leaves skin feeling hydrated without stripping,” according to the brand. It calls on rosehip and sea buckthorn oils to moisturize while shea butter lends skin a soft touch. This cleanser is also laced with traces of juniper and cypress, which are designed to “provide a refreshing experience.” The Face + Body Wash should be used as the first step in both your day and nighttime skincare routine.
After washing your face, consider addressing any post-cleanse irritation with the $10 Loved01 Toning Mist. The soothing spray uses chamomile and lavender to calm the skin while aloe vera provides hydration. This mist is intended to be used after cleansing, but you can use it to placate skin after a shave as well.
Exfoliating, or the act of getting rid of dead skin cells, should be done weekly in order to maintain a bright, glowing complexion. Legend introduces this process into his line with the Exfoliating Cleanser, a $15 multipurpose product that purports to have the “creamy texture of fine bamboo powder and plant-based oils,” which work in tandem to bring about smooth skin. Natural bamboo serves as the exfoliating agent and rosehip and sea buckthorn oils moisturize. Rub the cleanser into your hands, then apply it to your face or body and use “light circular movements to gently exfoliate.” The brand recommends reaching for this cleanser two or three times a week.
Loved01 wants to ensure that you have a comfortable shaving experience by offering up the $10 Shave Cream. It claims to have lightweight texture that’s supposed to safeguard face and body skin from irritation while shaving. The cream is infused with rosehip and sea buckthorn oils to moisturize the skin. Place the cream on damp skin, then proceed with shaving.
Rounding out your skincare routine with a moisturizer is essential for optimal skin health, as it serves as your skin’s shield from potential irritants. Legend’s $10 Face + Body Moisturizer assures that it’s compatible with all skin types by providing “next-level hydration” by way of its “rich, whipped texture.” It calls on myriad moisturizing and ingredients such as rosehip, sea buckthorn, jojoba and coconut oils. Reach for the moisturizer once you’ve cleansed and toned the skin on your face and body in the morning and at night, and use as much formula as you’d like.
For an extra layer of protection, Loved01 has a Face + Body Oil, which retails for $15. It is meant “to deliver deep hydration and drench your skin with antioxidants to protect and repair your skin barrier,” per the brand. The oil contains rosehip and sea buckthorn oils to moisturize. Apply the oil onto the face and body after moisturizing or on the ends of your hair.
